War Of The Worlds

Terry is an avid reader. I know he tries to read every night before turning of the light to sleep. One of his favorite books was H.G. Wells “War of the Worlds,” which was written in the 1890s. We a couple of years ago Tom Cruise was in a movie with the same name, but Terry says that the similarities between the two are lacking. In the book, the Martian Invasion takes place in England during the 1890s. Orson Wells, did a Radio version of War of the Wards in 1938. The setting for Orson Wells broadcast was New Jersey USA. It was so realistic that some people believed that the earth was really being invaded by Martians.

In 1953 a War of the Words movie was made and took place in Southern California. In 1978, Jeff Wayne wrote a musical version of War of the Worlds, returning it to its originals setting in England and to its original time period.
