My Eldest Daughter’s Adventures In School

Yesterday when Mj arrived home from school, she told me that she will have to wake up so early today because their fun run will start at 4:00 in the morning. The meet up will start at 3 in the morning so she has to wake up at 2 in the morning. She has been telling me about this a week ago and I didn’t realize it until yesterday. I didn’t even know that I already paid for it. She was complaining though last night because she found out that they have class afterwards and she can’t absent because it’s their laboratory schedule.

I am so happy of how Mj being so serious about her study. She liked her new school a lot; she can cope up with her studies especially with her Math and Science. You see she was given a probationary status because her final grade when she was in 4th year did not reach 85 so she have to strive hard and I am glad she was able to do it, in fact more than of what we expected.

When I found out that Mj did a good job of her grades to her new school, I slowly love it too. But as what they said you can’t have everything because I still have  something to say about this school and that is it has a lot of projects and contributions that sometimes Mj needs to go out on Sundays to meet with her classmates because they have dance practice or projects they need to attend to. I am still monitoring her though, I don’t want to be complacent, it’s not that I don’t trust her but teenagers these days are very adventurous and sometimes they tend to lie to just do whatever they want. We will just have to be cautious though and she knows how I am when I am betrayed so I have high hopes that she won’t lie at all.

Memorizing Multiplication Table

Faith is memorizing multiplication table recently and we are so serious about it. The first 30 minutes everything is so smooth but later on, it gets harsh because she kept on forgetting, I already tried to help her but she kept on forgetting. The last time we had the Multiplication table memorize was from 2 to 7. I don’t want her to use her fingers to check for the answer, I want her to do it on her mind and that’s what we are practicing for a while now. But she can’t avoid it, she something doing it with her finger. But Faith even though she’s an ADHD, she listened. I always told her that what we are doing is for her own good. We continued and then right after we had a mock quiz. The real struggle starts there since I do it not in chronological order, she got lost again.

We went back to memorize what we stopped a while ago then went to mock quiz again. She is trying it hard and finally she was able to answer it all.

Her Dad knows the struggle; he recommended a game for Faith to answer. It is fun and innovative. We used it once and yeah Faith had fun, she does it easily because the answers are there, you’ll just have to drag it. We were doing it also after the mock quiz.

Yesterday, we were not able to do it because she only got her tooth extracted. Yeah our appointment was yesterday and I could be so much prouder because she was able to cope up her fear of having her damaged tooth extracted.

Recognition In Kumon

My sister called us on the phone and told us that they need Faith to be at their house today but Faith was still sleeping so we have to wait for her to be awake. Yeah when its vacation Faith has all the time to sleep half of the day, I don’t know what they got for Faith today, I mean Faith already received a nice gift from her on Christmas; it was a pink dress from them. On the other hand, she also have to hurry because we need to go to Kumon for her recognition, yes she was one of the honor roll this year and I couldn’t be happier. I am so proud of her achievements in Kumon, way to go Faith!

The program will start at 4 in the afternoon, but we have to go there before 4 so I need to tag Faith earlier thus if the traffic will be heavy, we can still beat it; we still can be there before 4 or in exact 4 pm.

She Got A Star

Today was the first day of Faith’s summer class; I woke up early and prepared our things immediately. I drove her to her school, my daughter was so happy that I was the one who send her to the school, oh well with my sister, her aunt. After I dropped her to the school, I drove my niece to the hospital to visit Yanyan; she also needs to stay there for a while sister Irenie is out for some appointment. When I fetched up Faith from school, she was so happy to show me her star. Yes, she got a star from answering her module perfectly. I was so glad, I am so proud of her.
