They Ended It With A Blast

Just got too busy this month, you see been attending parties at almost every weekend. Oh well spare me, who would not party when it’s December right?

The kids ended their classes with a blast. Faith was awarded for 2nd place during their Spelling Bee at school. It was so unexpected because she was only a substitute, her classmate who supposedly a representative was absent at that time and her teacher just grabbed her. During the contest, while she was waiting for her contender to finish, she got bored that she draw and make doodles on the answer board, when it was the time to show the answer, she had so many drawing on her answer board, it made her Principal laugh so hard.

Just after I learned that Faith got the 2nd spot on the Spelling Bee contest. Mj called me and told me that she was able to do it, her grades was higher this time. Yes she was not one of the honors but knowing the fact that she worked hard for her grades to make it higher than of what we expected that is good enough for me already.

Indeed, they deserve the gifts this Christmas.

Dream Big But No Pressure

It’s not that I am losing hope; I mean I know my youngest daughter is full of surprises good or bad, bad or good. But honestly, I didn’t know she will receive an academic award during her Moving Up day. I asked my 2 sisters to accompany Faith at the venue since I could not attend the ceremony and when I got there, I was surprised when I found she had a silver award. I congratulate her right away when she saw me in the back. But she was too busy to respond, she said she needs to get the portfolio from her teacher and the school newspaper.

I know Faith can surpass my expectation, it is just that I don’t expect too much it is because I want her to enjoy her school without feeling any pressure. But she did it, she just did it! And too bad I wasn’t there to put the medal on her, work sometimes sucks especially during this very important event but I know I can’t stop I need to work hard for them, for my family.

Faith is grinning so wide while eating her lunch, she felt so proud that she was able to make it although she said she wanted to get the topnotch, I answered “As long as you enjoy what you are doing, dream big”. Although I wish of her to get to the top but I don’t pressure her because I know and I am sure that instead of her being inspired she might end up affecting her negatively.

So we are taking it slowly but surely. As long as we were able to study in Filipino and Sibika, everything will turn out fair.

Consistent English Speaker

We didn’t have car today, so I and Faith have to take a Jeepney going to the school of Mj to fetch her. Mj went to the school early this morning for the practice for their recognition day. It was finished at 12 noon; the moving up day of Faith will start at 1 in the afternoon. And before going to the school we need to dropped by at the friend’s house to get my cake order but there is no one in there house when we went there, so we just proceeded to the school of Faith. My friend just sent my order to the school for the party of Faith. We were not allowed to go inside the classroom until the program was finish; we were just allowed to go inside during eating time. But before eating time, the kids were able to sing for the parents and here’s the video:

Faith was so proud to sing the song for us, and she was even calling my name to at least see her on their choral performance.

One thing also that made her so happy and so proud was when she showed me that she got a medal for consistent English speaker. She even wore it when we went to the mall to grocery shop.
