Teach Them How To Save

I am so glad that my youngest daughter has the initiative to save.

I gave her P 20.00 everyday as her extra allowance aside from the cracker and Yakult she brought to school for snacks. I gave her P 20.00 so if she have something she would like to buy, she have money to pay for it. However, later on I found out she is not spending it instead she save it. I encouraged her to save more so she can get the books she would like to buy. But it was last month that someone stole her money inside her wallet. She cried so hard because she saved that for my birthday. The guidance counselor talked to her about it. She was relieved somehow, she told me about it, scared that I will be mad. She was surprised because I did not, I mean she already had a terrible day at school and I do not want to add anything on her shoulder. I let it pass but I advised her to leave the money at home she saved at home, in that way it will be secure, she hesitated at first but she was convinced at the later time.

To inspire her, I always show how much money she already saved. She was happy to find out is getting bigger.

We joined the Binge Book Sale and she was able to buy Myths Busted 2 and The Warrior Cats. We paid for it out from her savings and yesterday after we claimed her report card, we went to Big Bad Wolf Book Sale and she bought Miss Peregrine Book and 2 Land of Stories.

Her books are a bit expensive, good thing we were able to join the two events that give us discounts and that she was able to afford it since she saved. So if you have kids her age, it is better to teach them how to save so they would know how hard it is to earn money.

If you want to get something, you must do some savings.

Events This Month For My Kids

There are many things about my kids I would like to share here but I always lost times. You see I’m a working Mom and most of the time I can’t update my blog. I am trying though but it just my time is not enough. So anyway, just this month I asked my supervisor if I can early log out because I need to attend my kids recital. This recital was supposedly scheduled on December but due to some unexpected events, the school move it to March 03, 2017 and since I don’t want to waste my time to nothing, I waited for the final schedule and when they have announced it, it is already too late I can’t plot a leave already. So I requested for my supervisor to allow me to take a half day so I can attend my girl’s recital.

Elementary was scheduled in the morning, I have to get Faith at home and thank GOD we were not late. When we arrived at the venue I unpacked Faith things right away but two teenagers approached me and they said that they were assigned to take good care of Faith so I can just enjoy watching the program. I didn’t expect it, so I gave them the bag of Faith and told them that all the stuffs that Faith’s needed is inside the bag.

The program was a success, I enjoyed it a lot especially I don’t have to worry for dressing Faith, and I had so much time to take a video and pictures of her. Faith did the piano as what she practiced at home. And guess what? I bought a piano because of this recital, I thought they will provide or let her borrow a piano but no; of course each of the kid will perform altogether on the stage so we need to bring our own piano.

It was my off that I went around the city to find a not so expensive piano, good thing I found one. It didn’t reach 4k so I was able to buy some grocery that we need at home.

On the other hand, high school will be held in the afternoon yet, so I need to wait for my eldest daughter to finish her performance, which I enjoyed a lot too. Mj was one of the dancers; she played drum for their band and a lead guitar for another set of music band. I can see her fulfillment when she did it. I am just so proud of her.

Now it’s their last week of their class and they are busy again for their moving up day. Their moving up will be on March 31st which is on Friday and geez it’s not even my off. Sigh!

Another Way To Learn Life

While writing this post I could hear my sister asking my little teapot to fix her toys, the little teapot followed the instruction well but there are times she won’t and will just teased her around. The eldest was reprimanded too to wash her dishes, I also told her to fold the blanket that they were playing. She followed well this time but yes I admit that there are times, it is so hard for her to follow. But we will not stop, I will not stop to tell them to do house chores and such, it is another way to learn life aside from what they learn from school, they also need to learn things from home as well.

Fun Activities For My Daughter

Having a very active 3 and half year hold is challenging. She is at the point that she wants to explore and touch almost everything. She gets easily bored at times and that is when she does things that make me a bit frustrated with her. So what do I do? I need have planned some fun activities for kids. Games and activities she will enjoy alone or with her sister or with me.

One of my objectives is to teach her things that will help her when she starts school. She already attends pre-school and she is doing some kids learning activities, but I hope to broaden the scope and experience of her learning. She seems focused on a few things, but I would like to see her try new methods instead of repeating the same one over and over. I hope I can be successful.

Education for kids can start early. I know of people who will start to try to teach their kids before they are actually born. I don’t know how successful this approach is and I wonder what the result would be for my daughter if we would have been able to attend Antenatal classes Sydney. I have no idea how it would have turned out. My girl is smart and clever, but at times she can be a real pain in the butt. But I love her dearly and want the best education possible for her and her older sister.
